Italian-Made Leather Shoes

Return of the Mule.

cherri bellini

You've been seeing them everywhere- from the soles of people strolling through the city, to the runway.

Let us give you a rundown of their triumphant return.

Mules are back for good.

Mules are a loafer style shoe with no constraint around the heel. They were typically worn as a unisex indoor shoe during the 1700s, and have risen and fallen in popularity since then. OK, we will stop with the history lesson now!

The last time the mule took the world by storm was towards the end of the 1990s. And as what goes around, comes around in fashion, the mule is BACK. And probably back to stay. Elle magazine recently graced it as "the shoe of 2017." So settle in, buckle up, and let us teach you how to wear this bad boy.

The casual mule

Call it Bordeaux, maroon or wine red, whatever you like, but its the colour that everyone is wearing! The lighter hue with gold buckle looks great with light wash jeans or even linen shorts. Your perfect casual companion.

The fancy mule

Oh hey there you shiny thing! Metallic leather to dress up any outfit and make you feel like your fanciest self. Metallic leather is great because it takes on whatever colour you are wearing, making it the ultimate neutral, yet fancy addition to your wardrobe. Available in black too!

The both-ways mule

Is it a mule or is it a loafer? It's BOTH! Wear these wool lined mule loafers as a slide or pull the back up for an all round snug foot. It doesn't get better tan these. (Pun intended!)

The corporate mule

Classic black, supple leather with a wool lining. Pair it back with a pant suit or knee length skirt and shirt to complete your everyday work look.

BROGUES... how to wear the perfect shoe!

cherri bellini

Spring is coming and if you are lucky enough to be an Adelaidean you will know that means wine tour season! What is the perfect shoe for comfort, style, and copious daytime wine drinking?…brogues of course!

  1. Firstly WHY are brogues so popular??

  • Is it that perfect sole and heel height?
  • The sophisticated smooth leather.
  • Being able to tie up your laces (women will know the difficulty of finding an actual shoe with actual laces)
  • Those decorative perforations in the leather… also known as broguing.
  • The fact they are a sure thing! The trend that has no signs of slowing down.
  • Their versatility? Google ‘women’s brogue outfit’ and you will find EVERY single item of clothing in your wardrobe all styled with brogues.
  • Colour combinations. OMG the endless possibilities.

If you own a pair of brogues you will know what makes them so incredibly desirable. If not get ready for these ways of how to wear your brogues and before you finish reading you will be putting on your trendy slides (because if you don’t own our 993 slides you should) and hot footing it down to 240 Rundle St, Adelaide to savour the Italian coffee while our staff find you the perfect colour and size.

Brogue Fact – originally brogues were a form of outdoor shoes and the holes in the leather were designed for draining water when crossing wet terrains.

Down to the nitty gritty.....

1. Cigarette pants - Pair our Thomas brogue with some sleek cigarette pants. The patent leather of the Thomas has that perfect dress up feel and the neutral colour will to with EVERYTHING.

2. Rolled up jeans - The traditional colour of our Latte brogue is the perfect addition to many looks but we love the understated smart casual mix of a blazer with jeans. Make sure you roll those jeans up to show off your shoes!

3. Stockings - Team the simple black wardrobe staple with the flashest of shoes. The colours in our Fang brogue are a true statement. Gold leather is a perfect accent colour to match with. Think gold sequin blazer.....because who doesn't own a gold sequin blazer!!!

4. Socks - Because if you don't wear socks with your brogues are you even cool? ...or warm!! But keep them plain and let your socks do the talking here, think the plain black patent leather of our Lee heeled brogue with a bright patterned sock.

5. Dress - The Hoffman brogue is your all season friend. Earthy brown and sky blue leather complimented with bright white leather makes it the perfect transitional shoe for all seasons. You cant go wrong especially with a simple dress.

6. Super Casual - For those days you want to relax the neutral tones of our Lloyd brogue are perfect to go with anything. For those days you want to make a statement, pair them with some bold colours and make that green leather pop.

7. In gold - Subtle sophistication of soft metallic leather elevates any outfit. Our Purcell brogue adds style to those serious shopping days followed by late lunches. They can even take you all the way through to the dance floor!

If you are still not convinced you need brogues in your life, pop into store and see how our staff style them on themselves! Try some on and fall in love with their comfort and quality. Italian leather never looked soo good!

See you soon,

All time TOP 4 FLAT travelling shoes!

cherri bellini

Hello winter! (Hello holidays more like it!)

If you've been living under a rock for the last few weeks we're here to tell you today friends - winter is here! And so are those Facebook and Instagram drool worthy pictures of friends and loved ones (perhaps less loved now or at the least - less liked?), holidaying in sunny Europe or basically - anywhere but here! Jealous much?

Chances are YOU YOURSELF are headed on your own travelling adventure, (as we are soon!) and we're here to help you out. That's right, what comes next is our personal TOP 4 travelling shoes to get you from the plane to that aperol spritz or champagne in 2 seconds flat! (Get it - FLAT! HA!)

Here they are!

1. The Slide.

Our pointy slide from designer 993 is butter in a shoe - and very on trend in Europe right now! Instant comfort with no wear-in time, these you can buy 10 min before boarding the plane and wear them until you get home. (I think a 'pop-up' cherri bellini shop in Adelaide airport could be a great idea! Thoughts?) Super lightweight and great for no fuss brunch dates or wine tasting off in the country side somewhere - slip these in your overnight bag for easy wear.

Choice of black nappa leather or brushed silver leather.

2. The Ballet.

The ultimate classic travelling shoe for all year round is, of course, the ballet shoe. Think Audrey Hepburn in a stripy blouse (are we still using that word?), capris, over-sized sunglasses on the back of a vespa, scrafe flowing - and her ballet shoes. Perfect, right?

Just when you thought perfection couldn't be MORE perfected - we had these made with a mini wedge for a bit of height, not too much only 2cm, to be kind on those knees and hips whilst strolling through beautiful gardens and admiring the local scenery. Ahh the serenity.

Choice of red, iced coffee, nay or black nappa leather.

3. The Slipper.

If you've tried the ballet style through and through and looking for a quick style change - the slipper is for you. High cut sides a slipper cut will give any outfit that thought out, refined look. Lined in a thin leather and canvas combo these are light weight and can take you from day wear to night in an instant.

Choice of red, navy or black nappa leather.

4. The Mule.

The style that is effortlessly chic and comfortable. Full stop. This is our all time number 1 choice. All time favourite. Let us tell you the reasons why...

The classic loafer design with no back means easy slip on and off on those long plane rides. The small heel gives you height to provide all day comfort wandering a new city. Either choose between the black nappa leather or brushed silver for either day or night wear. On trend - but not over the top detailing to suit any kind of traveller.

And there you have it friends, a little inspiration for those on their way to warmer, sunnier climates - don't forget a good shoe is a travelers best friend!
